It's almost time for Nicaragua!!!!

Hello again my lovelies! I have been so busy checking items off of My 55 Gallon Drum List that I haven't had time to update you on all of the goings ons (I really am a terrible blogger!). I owe you stories of music and dancing and Los Angeles and comedy shows and Hawaii but before I share what you actually want to know, I need to tell you how excited I am about Nicaragua (so selfish).

This post is going to serve as both my "Weeeeeee, I'm excited" post and my "In case I'm never heard from again here's where I was supposed to be" post. (Also my "You should be a little jealous right now" post)

First and foremost... A huge shout out to MdD who did pretty much all of the planning for this trip! I couldn't even find Nicaragua on a map a few months ago and blindly said yes to all of her choices. (Might regret this soon but more on that later). I clicked on links when she sent them to me but nothing registered. Until tonight I honestly had no clue what we were actually doing. And I've got to say is that I couldn't be more excited! (Nice job McD!). So about that fabulous trip she has planned for us.....

#15-24: Quick and Dirty One Liners

So after writing two whole posts in a row, I quickly came to the conclusion that I'm never going to get this blog up to date if I have to write an entire post for each list item. Besides sometimes all it takes is a few words... Or a picture (They're worth 1000 words right). So today I bring you the first installment of the Quick and Dirty One Liners!

#14: Splurge on the Full VIP Experience

(Aka that time I totally stuck out like a sore thumb)

Seeing as I already checked off Get Upgraded to VIP at a music festival earlier this summer (more on that later), when I bought my tickets for the Made in America Festival I decided to go all out and purchase the VIP package. I know some of you are going to yell at me (I'm looking at you MixTape Festival girls) for purchasing these tickets as opposed to earning them but this was a different list item. This time I wanted to experience the full VIP treatment from start to finish. All I can say is that I will never use the porta-potty of the commoners again...

The Preparation...

#13: Be in a Documentary

(aka that time Ron Howard totally tracked me personally down out of 100K people. Okay maybe not...)

So when I tweeted on Friday that my new goal for the weekend was to get into the Made In America Ron Howard documentary I thought I was just being facetious... At this point I’m convinced The Secret is a real thing. (PS Universe, I’d really like a million dollars. Actually while we’re at it, I’ll take 5, thanks.)

I was attending the Budweiser Made In America festival over Labor Day weekend and it was all over the
that Ron Howard would be filming a documentary while he was here.

There are several (well at least one) more posts to come about this weekend but let’s go ahead and get started with this story for now....

Well hello there....

Well hello there loving and adoring fans. It’s been a while since we’ve spoken and much has happened.

  • I’ve moved twice physically
  • I’ve moved on emotionally
  • I had a brief period of lameness
  • I remembered how to be awesome again
  • And it’s time to catch you up!

Inspired by McD herself, this summer has been the summer of YES! The motto has been “Why not?” and this has resulted in so much awesome, that we have upgraded ourselves to Professionals on the Fun Havers Scale.

#12: Go on a Wine Tasting Tour

(aka that time I didn't almost black out)

First of all, I have GOT to start writing these posts sooner (particularly when they involve alcohol). I'm finally sitting down to write about our wine tasting experience from three weeks ago and I can't remember a single thing we did.  The good news is that McD has her own blog and is MUCH better about frequent posts than I am. I can then cheat and use her entry to remind me when and what we did.

I had taken a Wine Tasting 101 course last year and had been intending to put my new found skills (and by "skills" I mean that I can tell the difference between a red wine and a white wine - at least for the first 4 or 5 glasses) to use on a wine tour but never actually got around to it. So when McD invited Merlin and I on yet another of her wine tours (she can tell the difference between white, red, AND ROSE!), it was time to get on it!
